Operations Leader


Job description

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic leader to join our team, where you will oversee and manage TCV’s Greater Belfast operations. As part of the Northern Ireland Senior Management Team, you will work alongside the Assistant Director and Operations Lead colleagues to seek out and deliver sustainable programmes, aligned with national strategic plans. We are looking for someone who can develop a range of programmes that focus on the use the natural environment to achieve our priority outcomes, increase the amount of activity which TCV delivers, as well as the number of people who benefit from these greenspace improvements. Our people are our greatest asset: as a senior manager in the Northern Ireland team, you will lead and inspire your staff and volunteers to deliver lasting impacts for people and green spaces, by continually developing their talent and encouraging performance. Your role will drive multi-sectoral partnership working, developing relationships to expand the breadth and scale of our Greater Belfast operations. You will be able to develop excellent relationships with funders and partners and create compelling, supported, and finically robust project proposals from TCV. You will effectively manage adherence with funder requirements to achieve our desired outcomes for people and places. .

Responsibilities

  • Lead, engage and develop a team, driving performance and developing talent.
  • Oversee local budgets to ensure the financial stability of the area.
  • Plan, set and monitor operational plans and outputs to ensure the area contributes to TCVs strategic plan and outputs.
  • Secure and manage resources including vehicles and premises
  • Deliver a compelling volunteer proposition that makes it easy to volunteer TCV in the local area.
  • Manage and contribute to the regional Business Development Pipeline.
  • Identify, develop and progress bids for new business.
  • Represent TCV and raise the profile of TCV at a local level to maximise business opportunities.
  • Recognising and developing new business opportunities.
  • Delivering successful initiatives within a grant funded structure.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience leading a team including recruitment, performance and talent management.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources.
  • Experience managing and promoting volunteering.

Desirable Skills

  • Management/business qualification at NVQ Level 4 or above or equivalent.
  • Interest or experience in safeguarding would be an advantage.
