Ards and North Down Council is hosting a Job Fair supported by the Department for Communities on Thursday 21st March 2024 in Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex, Newtownards.
The above event is scheduled to run from 12.00pm – 3.00pm.
More than 45 employers will take part and be on hand to answer questions and discuss employment and apprenticeship opportunities.

Are you aged 16-24, currently unemployed and finding it hard to get a job? The JobStart Scheme offers paid job opportunities to help you improve your employment skills and potential to get a permanent job or progress into further education or training. JobStart is run by the Department for Communities and can help you to get a job for six months (or nine months where additional criteria is met). The Scheme offers opportunities with a range of employers, in various sectors across Northern Ireland.
The benefits of the JobStart Scheme
By taking part in the JobStart Scheme you’ll:
develop your employment skills and get a six or nine month paid job opportunity
enhance your CV and future job prospects
increase your confidence
learn important work skills such as teamwork, problem solving and communication skills.
How much you’ll get paid
During the JobStart Scheme you’ll receive at least the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week. Your employer may choose to offer you additional hours. Other costs such as any uniforms or training you may need will also be covered.
