Social Media & Visitor Experience Assistant


Job description

This is a visitor-focused role with the successful candidate delivering farm activities such as animal handling sessions, supervising play equipment and day-to-day tasks such as cleaning and maintenance. The role will also involve content creation for the visitor attractions social media channels. This varied role will involve: Social media content creation, social media marketing, use of social media applications, customer service, animal handling, verbal communication, working as part of a team and event delivery. This role would ideally suit candidates who are interested in developing their customer service skills, that are looking for a role that lets them enjoy the outdoors, working with a wide range of animals and delivering exceptional service to our customers of all ages. What we are looking for: If you've got great people skills, enjoy working outdoors and love animals then this could be the role for you. An interest in social media, photography and videography would be beneficial to help us capture and create some great images, videos and stories for our channels. We are looking for individuals who want to join a growing business and a team who are passionate about delivering an excellent experience to all visitors and maintain the highest levels of animal care. Ideal candidates will be energetic, sociable and outgoing with a positive outlook and great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering activities including animal handling sessions, quad/tractor rides (depending on age and driving experience) and supervising play equipment.
  • Passion for animals and working with children to create a fun, friendly, safe and educational experience.
  • Cleaning and maintenance including health and safety checks.
  • Animal care including feeding, cleaning enclosures and care of small and exotic species.
  • Event delivery - Assist in the set up and delivery.
  • Work in accordance with policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Assist in capturing social media content and developing stories and posts for the farm's social media channels.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team, building good communication skills.
  • Great customer service skills, particularly with families and children.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • An interest in social media content creation.

Desirable Skills

  • Marketing and social media experience including use of programmes such as scheduling and creative software (e.g. Canva).
  • Driving licence.
