Groundsperson


Job description

The Groundsperson will learn and assist to carry out preparation and maintenance of the cricket pitches and surrounding facilities of Ardmore Cricket Club. They will work with the Grounds Committee of Ardmore Cricket Club and the various volunteer ground staff to ensure the pitch and facilities are presented to the highest possible standard for training and matches throughout the season for all users of Ardmore Cricket Club.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine preparation and maintenance of the cricket pitches, outfield and surrounding areas at Ardmore Cricket Club.
  • Assist with planning and delivering pitch preparation, maintenance and renovation of both new and used pitches to maintain high standards for playing and training of all users of Ardmore Cricket Club.
  • Work closely with the committee and volunteers of Ardmore Cricket Club to ensure commitments for playing and training schedules are met.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment as required for grounds maintenance in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe and operable standard, reporting any issues to the Ardmore Cricket Club Grounds Committee.
  • Ensure the grounds and work areas of Ardmore Cricket Club are tidy, safe and secure at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Good timekeeper.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of groundskeeping.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety requirements in a busy working environment involving the use of vehicles and machinery.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, at times this may involve work in periods of inclement weather.

Further Information

The Employer is: ARDMORE CRICKET CLUB Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
