Community Cricket Coach
Job description
The Employer is: LISBURN CRICKET CLUB. The Community Cricket Coach will be responsible for promoting cricket and fostering youth development within the community. This role involves engaging with young individuals, their families, and relevant stakeholders to provide coaching, organize events, and create a positive cricketing experience. The coach will work closely with schools, local organisations, and community members to deliver high-quality cricket programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Effective communication is crucial for this role. The coach will establish and maintain communication channels with parents/guardians of young cricket players.
- They will provide regular updates on practice schedules, events, and participants' progress. Additionally, they will address any concerns or queries from parents/guardians in a timely and professional manner.
- The coach will play a key role in organizing summer cricket camps aimed at providing intensive training and fostering teamwork.
- They will design camp schedules, activities, and themes to create an enjoyable and educational experience for the participants.
- The coach will also facilitate friendly tournaments and matches to provide opportunities for friendly competition and skill development.
- Collaboration with school stakeholders is essential. The coach will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to integrate cricket programs into school curricular.
- They will coordinate with schools to schedule coaching sessions and events, ensuring minimal disruption to academic activities.
- Additionally, the coach will provide feedback and progress reports to school staff to highlight the impact of cricket programs on participants' development.
- Communication with parents/guardians.
- Develop structured practice plans and drills suitable for various skill levels and age groups.
- Organising summer camps and tournaments.
- Liaising with school stakeholders.
- Developing community outreach programs.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Be willing to develop cricket specific coaching through a Cricket Ireland level One or a ECB Level Two.
- Experience of working within the sport at a recreational level. High levels of energy and enthusiasm and the desire to succeed Good project management skills and ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Experience of leading on community development programmes. Excellent administrative skills and evidence of project work.
- Child protection trained or, commitment to achieving this within a short period of time. First Aid trained or, a commitment to achieving this within a short period of time. and Access NI.
- Ability to travel independently between sites (Full and valid driving licence).
