We are seeking a skilled and passionate Trainee Pizza Chef to join our team. As a Pizza Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious and visually appealing pizzas that will delight our customers. Your expertise in dough preparation, sauce creation, and pizza assembly will help us maintain our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and hand-stretch dough to create the perfect pizza base, ensuring consistency in size and thickness.
  • Create and customize pizza toppings according to customer preferences, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas in different styles, such as Neapolitan, Sicilian, and New York-style, using traditional techniques and modern equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust oven temperatures to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection and have a crispy crust.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
  • Assist in the development of new pizza recipes and menu items, keeping up-to-date with industry trends and customer preferences.
  • Stay knowledgeable about ingredient quality, freshness, and seasonality, ensuring the use of the highest quality ingredients.
  • Uphold proper portion control and minimize waste through proper production planning and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene practices at all times.
  • No previous pizza chef experience is required, all training will be provided onsite!

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be thorough and pay attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food production methods.
  • The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure.
  • Leadership skills the ability to work well with others.
  • Maths knowledge.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
  • The ability to work well with your hands.
  • No previous pizza chef experience is required, all training will be provided onsite!

Desirable Skills

  • Applying kitchen safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Understanding cooking techniques, including various preparations.
  • Using ingredients correctly for different cuisines and in proper portions.
  • Learning how to use specific kitchen tools.
  • Preparing cuts of meat, fish and vegetables.
  • Grilling and firing techniques for various dishes and foods.
  • Sourcing and storing food items.
  • Identifying ways to limit food waste.
  • Adapting to various roles within a kitchen.
  • Working with other kitchen staff to maintain food production.
  • Mastering traditional techniques for pastry and confectionery cooking.
  • Testing food for excellent taste and freshness.
  • No previous pizza chef experience is required, all training will be provided onsite!

The Employer is: WALLED CITY BREWERY. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
