Job description
The Employer is: HOPE 4 UR LIFE LIMITED T/A HOPE 4 LIFE NI. To develop and deliver a range of early intervention facilitation sessions to support Children and Young People to thrive, develop and sustain good mental health in an ever-changing environment. To help children and young people living within Northern Ireland, Ireland aged between 9 - 16 years to understand wellbeing and to apply this to their interactions with society through the provision of a range of challenging and interactive activities. Develop their social, physical, mental and emotional capacities, promoting self-worth, independence, a sense of responsibility and respect for others, and are delivered with an underlying positive ethos. Provide opportunities for young people to explore their feelings, to nurture Hope, Opportunity and Change for all. To deliver programmes that help meet the needs of children & young people with mental health issues in the schools, working to build their skill-sets, to promote confidence & independence. An understanding and awareness of the importance of safeguarding young people with an ability to explain and communicate the Uberheroes programme message in ways that are relevant to children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Helping in the delivery and development of Youth work programmes and services, in close collaboration with other staff.
- To organise and deliver theme-based activities.
- Establishing relationships and a style of working that will enable the young people to safely learn and develop, in accordance with the principles and values of our Uberheroes programme and overall values of Hope 4 Life NI.
- Promoting participation from the young people, when delivering the Uberheroes programme.
- Supporting the monitoring and evaluating of sessional work including providing input to all sessional reports and data diagnostics.
- To familiarise yourself with the local community amenities and providers of services for young people, enabling us to ascertain where we can further improve our delivery and engagement within the communities we serve.
- To carry out any other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Management Team in line with the aims of the role.
- To have a collaborative and flexible approach to the work undertaken by Hope4Life NI.
- To work in accordance with Hope4Life NIs Aims, Objectives and Values.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Good communicator.
- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
- Works well in a team.
- Can follow direction and work within clear guidelines.
- Respect confidentiality.
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willing to work using initiative (in line with the charities guidelines).
- Good organisational skills.
- Good time keeping.
- To work within the Policies & Procedures knowledge of safeguarding children & young people noted in the Hope 4 Life Employment Manual.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the third sector and current issues affecting charities.
- Youth skills, ability to bring Children and Young People together.
- Understanding of the key issues facing Children within Northern Ireland in relation to mental ill-health.

The Employer is: HOPE 4 UR LIFE LIMITED T/A HOPE 4 LIFE NI. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
