Early Years Childcare Assistant


Job description

The Employer is: CARRYDUFF PLAY CARE CENTRE. The assistant will ensure children attending the Centre have the best start in life by providing a safe, welcoming, high quality, inclusive environment. He/she will support the Supervisor in the day to day work, providing a stimulating and varied programme of play and ensuring the social development of the children. He/she should work with the team to ensure the effective running of the centre, and all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and all written records are appropriately maintained. Maintain high standards of personal accountability to ensure the ongoing confidence of the public, in the staff at the Centre. The assistant must keep confidential any information regarding the children or their families that she/he learns as part of her/his job. Such information must not be passed on except to the Supervisor. .

Responsibilities

  • The assistant will work with the team to ensure the playroom is fully set up before each session commences. Maintain a high standard of hygiene during the preparation of breakfasts, snacks and lunches.
  • Ensure all equipment, play areas and toilets are cleaned and Health & Safety regulations adhered to, and equipment and the environment is risk assessed and checked regularly.
  • Work with the team to creatively plan the use of play spaces, including both indoor and outdoor environments, to ensure the children's developmental needs are being met.
  • Carry out any other duties falling reasonably within the competence and capability of the post holder.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A good standard of written and oral communication skills.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • An ability to work flexible hours.

Further Information

The Employer is: CARRYDUFF PLAY CARE CENTRE. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
