GIS roles are in demand more than ever and this opportunity will allow appointees to apply for similar jobs in future. The role of the GIS Assistant will include assisting the GIS Officer maintaining, modifying and using the Council’s geographic information systems (GIS) databases. You will be entitled to annual leave during this job opportunity. .

Responsibilities

• Creation of datasets from Open Data and NISRA websites.
• Digitising assets.
• Data Capture Reviewing existing data for accuracy, quality, usefulness and completeness of attributes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Good ICT skills (Word and Excel).
• English GCSE (A-C) or equivalent.
• Maths GCSE (A-C) or equivalent.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge / experience of GIS.
• Geography GCSE or equivalent.
• Ability to drive and/or access to a suitable form of transport.

Further Information

NMW 16-17yrs £4.81, 18-20yrs £6.83, 21-22yrs £8.36, 23-24yrs £9.50. The employer is: ARDS AND NORTH DOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
