Job description

You will oversee the delivery of goods accepted into our storage facility, manage quality control of goods delivered, oversee that the right goods are delivered to the right location on time, and at the correct cost. You will also be involved in stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods..

Responsibilities

  • Managing order confirmations from suppliers to ensure the correct items are delivered.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the correct goods to our storage facility, including the management of signed delivery dockets.
  • Managing the flow of ordered goods to ensure the correct goods are delivered on time.
  • Managing quality control of delivered goods and documenting findings.
  • Managing the delivery of the correct goods to site and ensuring the correct delivery dockets are signed.
  • Managing warehouse capacity to ensure warehouse costs are kept within the agreed budget.
  • Managing delivery costs to ensure agreed budgets are met.
  • Managing stock and carrying out monthly stock control, using agreed system.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety in the warehouse, delivery staff and site assessment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Excellent verbal & written communicator, with experience of communicating to a diverse audience.
  • High level knowledge of product value, with the ability to be fiercely protective of financial waste.
  • Ability to learn and manage product information, searching out important details & specifications that would influence a successful installation.
  • Ability to influence & negotiate in challenging environments.
  • Experience of working & delivering to a high level of autonomy, within company guidelines.
  • Strong planning & organisational skills, with the ability to forward plan.
  • Excellent document handling with the ability to follow company procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety.
  • Ability to lift heavy goods safely and within company guidelines.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
  • Clean Driving Licence.

Desirable Skills

  • Tow a 750kg trailer.
  • Drive a 7.5 tonne delivery vehicle.
