Job description

Duties associated with the management and maintenance of the Lagan weir, the River Lagan and associated facilities. Carry out inspections and routine maintenance of the boats. Carry out inspection and maintenance of the in-river elements of the aeration equipment. Carry out inspection and basic maintenance at the aeration building and gauging stations at Newforge and River Terrace. Carry out inspections and maintenance of safety equipment and chains along the river banks and quay walls. .

Responsibilities

• Operate patrols with the River Warden to enforce the Bye Laws during organised events.
• Assist with setting up and preparing facilities for organised events such as pontoons and buoys.
• Inspect public mooring facilities and organise and assist with their maintenance.
• Assist with checking and issuing of permits and licences.

Skills and Qualifications

• Training and supervision will be provided.

Further Information

All applicants will have to pass a medical. Training will be provided for basic first aid and for RYA level 2 Powerboat Certificate with a commercial endorsement
