Print Office Administrator


Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and highly motivated person to work for a leading manufacturer of flexographic printed flexible packaging. The successful candidate will be required to perform a varied range of administration duties within the print department. These duties include processing artwork, preparing quotations, raising purchase orders, liaising with customers, as well as assisting the Print Manager. .

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with customers, internal sales team and design houses to ensure new designs are processed in a timely manner which meets the requirements of our customers and are suitable for our flexographic printing process
  • Process approved customer designs and liaise with printing plate suppliers to provide final artwork proofs for customer approval
  • Prepare customer quotations, and carry out order processing tasks in relation to design activities
  • Raise and process purchase orders which includes providing printing plate specifications to suppliers
  • Perform quality check tasks on all new designs and printing plates
  • Maintain and update weekly progress reports on designs and plate statuses, and advise production team of any potential delays
  • Maintain stocks levels of key department consumables
  • Completion of day to day administrative tasks as required
  • Assist the Print Manager in the daily running of the printing department whilst being involved in continuous improvement projects

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Good numerical skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Be able to integrate into a team
  • At least 2 years previous administrative experience in a similar role

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience of working in a print or design related role

Further Information

Working hours are standard office hours 9:00am to 5:30pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm (to be discussed). Work Time: To be confirmed.
