Quaker Connections Development Manager
Job description
The successful candidate will manage and develop an effective volunteer befriending programme, communicate the concerns and needs of isolated service users, and provide advocacy and support for the fair and humane treatment of those in custody or recently released from custody in Northern Ireland. Responsibilities
- Volunteer Support
- Maintain records and admin systems to meet monitoring, evaluation and financial reporting requirements
- Develop effective programmes which meet the needs of service users, volunteers and funders.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 3 years experience working in a community/voluntary setting to include project development, people management, admin, finance and working with groups.
- 3rd level qualification e.g community development, caring, education, criminal justice etc
- Driving licence
Desirable Skills
- Work with marginalised groups
- Experience of Criminal Justice system, knowledge of issues affecting persons in custody
- A qualification in volunteer management
- Safeguarding training
- First Aid training
Further Information
LOCATION: Part of the working week will be spent in the Personal Development Unit at HMP Maghaberry, and at Quaker Services Offices in Belfast. Work sites will also include HMP Magilligan and Hydebank Wood College. Post-probation period, the charity operates a flexible approach to homeworking by agreement.
