Our client, a leading packaging solutions company are seeking a Gluing Operative to join their busy team, based in Mallusk..
Responsibilities
- To comply with current systems of working including established shift patterns.
- To achieve the highest possible quality standards working within the guidelines outlined in the established quality systems to achieve customer specification.
- Follow standard operating procedures and training to ensure product is fed, glued, inspected and packed.
- Quality check cartons whist feeding these into the gluing machine.
- Quality check glued cartons coming off gluing lines.
- Pack into correct corrugates per customer specification.
- Comply with sampling process as per customer request.
- Participate as part of a team to maximise machine efficiency.
- Participate in continuous learning and development to update skills and participate in improvement initiatives in production.
- To work flexibly across all the finishing departments.
- To work in a safe manner adhering to laid down health and safety procedures.
- To report all accidents, dangerous occurrences and potential risks and ensure you behave in a way which minimises risk to yourself and others.
- To assist in the maintenance of all machinery and equipment in line with established planned maintenance programs.
- To keep work area clean and tidy, ensuring that the highest standards of housekeeping and hygiene are always maintained.
- To work as a team to achieve daily/weekly production targets.
- Working as part of a crew on the gluing assembly lines reporting to the machine operator.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Sound process knowledge of a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare market desirable but not essential.
- Familiar with quality standards and procedures and ability to examine cartons to a high-quality standard is desirable.
- IT literacy with a good understand of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision
- Methodical approach to undertaking tasks.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Be standards driven with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Be team focused by harnessing collaboration and co-operation of others
- Be prepared to participate in continuous development and training
- Must be flexible and adaptable to change
- Must be prepared to take on additional responsibilities and other duties as required to meet business needs

Further Information
Working Hours: Rotating shifts. Shift 1: Monday & Tuesday 6am - 2pm, Wednesday & Thursday 2pm - 10pm, Friday 11:30am - 5pm. Shift 2: Monday & Tuesday 2pm - 10pm, Wednesday & Thursday 6am - 2pm, Friday 6am - 11:30am.
