General Operative Grounds Maintenance
Job description
The postholder will undertake a variety of roles, primarily within the Grounds Maintenance section, using a wide range of machinery, across outdoor works areas. This will enable the council to maintain, promote and improve their gardens, urban and green spaces to a high standard for the whole community. .
Responsibilities
- Carry out horticulture duties including cultivation, fertilisation, landscaping and maintenance work, etc. as required.
- Undertake grass cutting, litter collection, weeding and watering duties.
- Operate required machinery , including ride on lawnmower, pedestrian mower strimmer and other powered equipment as appropriate.
- Maintenance and planting out flowerbeds, baskets, containers and displays.
- Maintenance and planting of trees and shrub beds.
- Current Driving Licence including Category B E.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- PA1 Spraying Certificate.
- 1 years experience of grounds maintenance duties relevant to the post e.g. flower planting, flower bed maintenance.
- Experience in using a range of grounds maintenance machinery and hand tools e.g. pedestrian mower, ride on lawnmower, strimmers etc.
- 1 years experience dealing with members of the public.
