Manager
Job description
The Manager must ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care for all the children placed in the nursery. They must supervise and support all other team members within the setting. To manage the nursery on a day to day basis in terms of administration, staffing, quality of care, and all requirements of day care. The overall policies are laid down by the Area Manager to whom the Manager and all staff are accountable. The Manager should assist with the implementation of and execution of all policies. These policies must be read before employment commences. Policies will be reviewed and updated annually, and the Manager should ensure that all staff carry out their duties in accordance with these policies..
Responsibilities
- To supervise and support all team members within the nursery with their day to day duties.
- To show prospective parents around the nursery in a welcoming and friendly manner. To ensure that both children and parents feel at ease with, and confident in the nursery.
- To ensure the nursery has as many places filled as possible and staffing ratios are maintained at all times.
- To deal with any team member whose behaviour is not deemed appropriate, at the soonest opportunity and in confidence.
- To assist with the efficient upkeep of the building and the maintenance/stock of equipment, furnishings and fittings, ensuring that a high standard of hygiene is maintained.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- None required.
Desirable Skills
- Have a full, clean driving license and be willing to drive nursery vehicles.
- Be prepared to step in and cook lunch if our chef is on annual leave.
Further Information
Work Time: 7:30am - 4:30pm. The Manager will also be a Designated Child Protection Officer and must have appropriate training which will be updated every 3 years.
