Job description
The Finance Assistant sits within the Treasury Team within Energia Group’s central Group Finance function. This is a key role within the team, where the successful applicant will provide accounting expertise and support across the full range of treasury processes within this challenging and critical function. The successful applicant will produce consistently high-quality work that meets the needs of the function and producing and maintain accounting and administrative records to achieve their business outcomes. .
Responsibilities
- Prepare or process the transfer of internal and external funds.
- Prepare, review or process payment proposals for submission of supplier payments to the bank.
- Print and cancel cheques and maintain cheque registers.
- Maintain the collateral positions for the Letter of Credit and cash collateral facilities.
- Maintain and update the cash books for relevant bank transactions and ensure the income and expenditure detailed in the cashbook are posted to the accounting system (SAP).
- Prepare and agree bank reconciliations at month end between Bank statements, the cash books and SAP.
- Update Treasury records for all loans, interest and hedges, and prepare monthly accruals for input to SAP.
- Assist the Treasury team in managing the working capital requirements of the Group including cash flow forecasting.
- Submit EMIR reporting as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Demonstrable experience in a treasury / accounts receivable / accounts payable / cash management or similar finance role.
- Relevant experience completing bank or supplier statement reconciliations and properly dealing with differences when they arise.
- Experience of double entry / general postings.
- A high degree of computer literacy including Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of integrated accounting systems e.g. SAP, SAGE.
Desirable Skills
- Hold a full IATI qualification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the electricity supply market.
- Proven team motivator with strong facilitation skills.
