SHSCT Lead Nurse (Paediatric Long-Term Conditions) Band 8A
Job description
Within this role the jobholder will be responsible to the Head of Service for leading the delivery of high quality specialist nursing services for children & young people in relation to long term condition management in the Southern Trust area. Ensuring the objectives of the Trust’s Delivery Plan for these services are successfully implemented through effective multidisciplinary working. Operationally managing epilepsy, diabetes, continence, cardiology and respiratory/allergy specialist nursing services. Providing clear leadership to all the specialist staff within his/her sphere or responsibility. Working in collaboration with the Head of Service to ensure effective financial management and the efficient use of all resources. Collecting and analysing appropriate information to support the Head of Service with performance management and reporting, long term planning and service reform initiatives. As senior nurse the jobholder will contribute to policy development and implementation within the service. .
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, co-ordinates and manages service provision for children and young people with long term conditions.
- Oversees the accurate assessment, planning and implementation of appropriate models of care, including the provision of specialist advice and maintenance of contemporaneous and accurate records.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- University degree in Nursing or Health related subject OR equivalent professional nursing qualification and have a minimum of 2 years experience at band 7 or above
- A minimum of 3 years working in a managerial role at band 7 or above including experience in staff supervision and appraisal
