Responsibilities
- Maintain all records relating to the group's management, ensuring confidentiality and data protection of the children, their families and staff members.
- Delivering of Out of School Provision and the two years programme.
- To lead the day-to-day management and organisation of the Childrens Lane.
- Planning.
- Staff supervision.
- Work with all staff to ensure and provide care, play opportunities and activities in a homely, nurturing, and safe environment concerning the children's individual development needs.
- Liaise with the school concerning the needs of the children who attend the club.
- To liaise with parents to encourage parental involvement and support of the Out of School Club and the 2 years programme.
- Driving responsibility (must have a clean license), use of your own car, however, you may use the company car.
- Uphold, implement and regularly review all policies and procedures of the group in partnership with the staff team and management board.
- Maintain all records relating to the groups management, ensuring confidentiality and data protection of the children, their families and staff members.
- Liaise with the management committee to ensure rigid financial control of the budget and be responsible for ordering equipment, supplies and resources.
- Liaise with the manager to administer bookings and collection of fees, ensuring that any money transactions are handled and documented as directed by the organisation's policy.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day administration and record-keeping, including maintaining attendance records and other appropriate documents as required.
- To effectively manage the occupancy levels of the Childrens Lane programme and out-of-school, managing the waiting list and offering childcare places.
- Promoting and marketing the Childrens effectively to maintain occupancy.
- Develop professional working relationships with the school, all relevant professionals and authorities, including the HSCT.
- With support from the management committee, monitor and evaluate the quality of the service.
- Maintaining working relationships with other site users.
- To ensure adequate safety and hygiene standards are maintained throughout Childrens Lane, complete appropriate risk assessments, and record and report hazards and accidents.
- Ensure that all staff work within Children's Lane's policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow Childrens Lane Childcare child protection and safeguarding policy.
- Kitchen duties include preparation of nutritious food (breakfast and snacks), serving, and cleaning.
- To carry out any other duties that will enhance the work of Childrens Lane Childcare.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- NVQ level 3 in Childcare/Playwork or equivalent (HSCT require level 5 enrolment).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience working with children aged 2-11 years.
- Good organisational skills.
- First Aid qualification or will to attain.
Desirable Skills
- Level 5 childcare qualification or higher.
- Good knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities and special educational needs.
- Relevant supervisory/management experience.
Further Information
25 hours per week - additional hours to be worked flexibly during school holiday periods. Term time 9.00-12.30 Mon, Tue, Wed and 2.00 pm-6.pm with one afternoon off a week. School Holidays - shift work between 8.00 am- 6.00 pm (30/40 hours).
