The Hostel Mentee will assist the hostel Manager and hostel staff at Hostelling International Hostels. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in an organisation that provides experiences and opportunities through hostelling activity and community engagement. The Hostel Mentee will support the work of the Hostel Manager and other hostel staff in day to day working with our hostel guests and potential customers. The Hostel Mentee post will be based in Bushmills Hostel..

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Hostel Manager.
• Support the work of the staff team when responding to hostel guests and perspective customers in person by telephone, email and online activity.
• Support the staff team when welcoming guests and checking their details against their bookings, taking messages and delivering them.
• Receive training to enable the mentee to utilise HINI's computerised booking system.
• Allocating guest rooms and provision of keys.
• Completing administrative tasks including recording post/mail, filing and photocopying, maintaining administrative records including the development of health and safety reports.
• Comply with all HINI policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Perform any other reasonable duties and tasks assigned by the Hostel Manager.

The Employer is: YOUTH HOSTEL ASSOCIATION OF NORTHERN IRELAND Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
