Assisting in kitchen with preparation and prompt service of customer orders. Assisting with preparation of ingredients to include chopping vegetables, grating cheese, cooking meats, etc. Washing dishes and loading/ unloading dishwasher..

Responsibilities

• Washing dishes and loading/ unloading dishwasher.
• Assisting with preparation of ingredients to include chopping vegetables, grating cheese, cooking meats, etc.
• Assisting in kitchen with preparation and prompt service of customer orders.
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the tearoom, kitchen area, customer areas and back room areas. This will include brushing and mopping floors, cleaning surfaces, dealing with spills, emptying bins, etc.
• Adhering to company and government health and hygiene procedures.
• Ensuring all food and other items are stored appropriately.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Able to follow instruction from kitchen manager but also show initiative for tasks needing completed without constant supervision.
• Able to cope with multi-tasking e.g. switching between kitchen, cleaning/clearing duties and occasional counter service if required.
• Willingness to lend a hand across other areas of the farm if needed e.g. helping colleagues in the indoor play or farm/barn areas if needed.
• Flexibility and excellent team-working and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Preference for at least 6 month proven experience in a similar position e.g. cafe or sandwich bar.

Further Information

This is a temporary 3 month opportunity to start with but may lead to a permanent role. We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant(s) to cover the hours listed but are willing to consider applications from different people for the different days available if the whole work pattern can be covered in this way. Laganvale Farm is located between Dunmurry and Lisburn and employees are likely to need their own method of transport to be able to travel to work as there is not a suitable bus service.
