Junior Bench Joiner
Job description
We are a small newly established business in Kilkeel, County Down. We design and manufacture high-quality custom woodwork solutions for our clients as well as having great connections in the seating fit out industry. With a strong commitment to craftsmanship and innovation, we take pride in creating beautiful and functional designs using the latest CAD programmes. We are looking for an individual to work within our team to help push on both existing and upcoming projects across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Successful applicants will join a friendly team that will provide any training necessary to get you started. Responsibilities
- Woodworking and fabrication duties.
- Operate a range of woodworking machinery such as saws, routers, planers and sanders. Cut, shape and smooth wooden components.
- Accurately measure and mark to ensure they meet design specifications.
- Assemble various parts using various joinery techniques.
- Quality control duties.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and design specifications.
- Identify and rectify any defects or imperfections in the finished product.
- Health and safety duties.
- Safely handle and store wood materials and supplies.
- Keep the work area clean and organised including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
- Applicants must be prepared to stay away from home overnight as some projects prove too far to travel daily. All accommodation is covered with generous overnight allowances available.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Working well within a team: This includes being able to voice and make suggestions to others about how processes could be improved and made more efficient.
- Reliable: Applicants must not only be punctual but also be able to work on their initiative once they feel comfortable to do so.
- Communication: Be able to organise and make suggestions within the team to help projects run more efficiently.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a joinery or similar role is preferred but not essential.
Further Information
The Employer is: TL TIMBERCRAFT LTD. Although this is a full time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: £11-£14 per hour dependant on experience.
