Assistant Groundsperson
Job description
Our sports club requires an additional Groundsperson from March to September 2024. We are becoming increasingly busy and this individual will be much needed and get the training/opportunities/contacts for potential further work across the sports grounds industry in Northern Ireland. The individual will work alongside our groundsman and be part of a wider team which includes volunteers at North Down Cricket Club (one of the oldest sports clubs in Ireland founded 1857). Our facilities are renowned as first-class and this is an ideal opportunity for a young person wanting to break into the grounds industry..
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will work as part of a wider grounds team at NDCC under the supervision and direction of the Head Groundsman.
- Mowing grass.
- Preparation of cricket wickets.
- Clearing debris.
- Repairing fixtures such as lights, benches and fountains.
- Cleaning and painting benches, poles and signs.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Able to use their multitasking abilities to meet required maintenance standards for our grounds at all times.
- Well organised.
- Have an eye for detail.
- Work well as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
- Have a qualification or experience in grounds maintenance/groundwork.

The Employer is: NORTH DOWN CRICKET CLUB Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
