We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our team, a vibrant and eco-conscious refill shop. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, promoting sustainable practices and maintaining the overall efficiency of the store. Responsibilities

• Customer service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner, addressing their inquiries and providing information about our products and refill process.
• Product refills: Accurately and efficiently refill various products such as grains, spices, detergents, cleaning supplies and personal care items into customers' containers ensuring proper measurements and hygiene standards.
• Keep a well organised and fully stocked refill station, monitoring inventory levels and promptly restocking as needed.
• Cash handling and point of sale (POS): Operate the cash register and POS system for transactions, handling cash, credit/debit cards and electronic payments accurately.
• Store maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the store to food hygiene standards, refill stations and surrounding areas. Perform routine cleaning tasks including wiping down surfaces, sweeping and organising product displays.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine interest in sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and measurements.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Please note this role involves lifting and carrying containers of varying sizes and weights.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in retail, customer service or a similar role is preferred but not required.

Further Information

The Employer is: WITHOUT WASTE. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour.
