Quality Technician


Job description

LPE is the longest established 3D printing company in the UK and Ireland, is currently looking for a Quality Technician to join the team to perform a variety of quality tasks. LPE use leading edge 3D technologies to prototype a huge variety of parts for some of the most interesting companies in the UK and Europe. We recently won an award for our work on the Pinocchio film but we are equally proud of the work we do for companies like Rolls Royce, Hyundai, Toyota etc. The company works in a fast-paced environment and is constantly working on new interesting projects. The Quality Technician will work closely with the Quality Manager to help ensure that the design and operation of quality standards and procedures are being correctly implemented in the company. You will assist the Quality Manager in ensuring the consistent delivery of quality products in a safe work environment..

Responsibilities

  • Conduct 3D scanning operations: Assist in the operation of 3D scanning equipment to inspect 3D printed parts to CAD/drawing specifications.
  • Perform quality inspections: Utilise measurement tools and inspection techniques to assess the quality and accuracy of components ensuring they meet standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain quality data administration: Accurately record and maintain quality-related data and documentation using digital platforms and software systems. This includes inputting inspection results, generating reports and documenting any deviations.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance Manager: Work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to identify areas for process improvement and contribute to quality control measures across various stages of prototype production.
  • Adhere to safety and compliance standards: Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and team members.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Well organised with good attention to detail.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Basic numerical skills.
  • No prior experience needed as full training provided but must be open to learning and willing to take instruction in order to help your understanding of the job.

Desirable Skills

  • Any previous quality experience.
  • Interested in emerging technologies/interest in quality.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • This role will give the successful candidate experience in SAP Business One which is a widely used ERP system.

Further Information

The Employer is: LASER PROTOTYPES (EUROPE) LTD Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour.
