Job description

As a Trainee Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, you will work directly with the Programme Director to promote both NVTV as a channel and its content. You will be responsible for: Social Media Assistance: Support the management of social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) by assisting in content creation, scheduling and engagement. Upload and maintenance of the NVTV website for our on-demand services..

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the team to create and curate content including graphics, images and written copy for social media and other marketing materials.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor and engage with the online community by responding to comments, messages and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Content Calendar: Assist in maintaining a content calendar to ensure regular posting schedules and plan upcoming campaigns.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Learn to use analytics tools to track and measure the performance of social media and marketing efforts.
  • Marketing Campaign Support: Participate in the development and execution of marketing campaigns assisting with various tasks as needed.
  • Training and Learning: Engage in training sessions and mentorship to enhance your skills in marketing and social media coordination.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written is essential.
  • Passion for Marketing and Social Media: A strong interest in digital marketing and social media platforms with a desire to learn and grow in this field.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with the online community and collaborating with team members.
  • Creativity: An aptitude for creative content creation and an eye for design and visuals.
  • Basic Writing Skills: Ability to write clear and engaging social media posts and marketing copy.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, platforms and strategies.
  • Organisational Skills: Basic organisational and time management skills to support content calendars and campaigns.

Desirable Skills

  • Third level qualification is desirable.
  • Graphic Design Skills: Basic knowledge of graphic design tools for creating compelling visuals.
  • Photography/Videography Interest: An interest in photography and videography for capturing engaging content.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with various social media platforms and marketing tools.
  • SEO Understanding: A basic understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) for content optimization.
  • Video Editing Skills: Basic video editing skills for creating video content.

Further Information

The Employer is: NORTHERN VISIONS LTD. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Northern Visions/NVTV is Northern Ireland’s local community channel, broadcasting to over 305,000 homes across the greater Belfast area via Freeview channel 7 and 157,000 homes via Virgin Media channel 159.
