Job description

To support 4 family members who have severe learning disabilities with all aspects of their day to day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. Providing care and support is both a challenging and rewarding experience. You will work with the family in their home. Compassion, good communication skills and a calm and caring manner are essential for this important role..

Responsibilities

• Showering and bathing
• Dressing and grooming
• Toileting
• Teeth
• Helping with putting on clothes
• Encouraging, reminding; assisting and giving medicines
• Ordering and collecting prescriptions

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Have the ability to drive family vehicle to appointments, day trips and shopping

Desirable Skills

• Excellent time keeper and reliable

Further Information

Ability to give care and support to each family member with aspects of their daily living in a manner that respects their dignity, is non- judgmental and promotes their independence, choices and privacy. Job is 18 hours - 09:00 - 18:00 hrs on Saturday and Sunday every other weekend. Total hours in 4 week period 36 hrs.
