Job description

Trainee Butcher. As a trainee the job will be learning the day to day workings of a traditional butcher shop and working alongside and learning from Butchers. Learning how to handle different raw meats and other products sold in the shop. .

Responsibilities

• Preparing / manufacturing of raw meats and other products sold in shop.
• Helping to receive and dispatch orders.
• Day to day running of the shop, this will include ensuring shop is kept clean, utensils are cleaned on a regular basis.
• Counters are kept stocked up.
• Serving customers, working till system.
• Handling cash and credit card transaction.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must be able to work of own initiative.
• Must have good communication skills and willing to learn and take instructions from others.
• Be able to work and thrive in a busy environment.

Desirable Skills

• Good command of English and Maths.
• Experience of working in a busy environment.
• Previous experience of handling cash and till system.
• Knowledge and an understanding of Health and Safety.

Further Information

The Employer is: ANDERSONSTOWN MEATS LTD. Although this is a full-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour.
