Job description

We are now Recruiting Survey Interviewers. Do you like meeting and talking to new people? Are you well organised? Our Survey Interviewers visit residential addresses to conduct surveys over the phone or face to face. Surveys are completed on behalf of Government Departments and cover many topics including health, education and community safety. The information we collect is used to help shape policies across Northern Ireland. We require interviewers across all Northern Ireland. Responsibilities

  • Have the right interpersonal and communication skills to gain the trust of a diverse range of people while recording responses on a tablet computer.
  • Be able to quickly build a relationship with a wide range of people and be comfortable talking to people about their circumstances.
  • Be persuasive without being forceful. Demonstrate a commitment to the role that drives them to meet their targets
  • Survey interviewers call at households to ask questions about health, employment, education and community safety. Not everyone will take part so you will need to have perseverance to carry on, even when faced with a setback.
  • Interviewers will be required to use a work mobile and a small tablet computer to record answers from households. Training will be provided, but you must be comfortable using this style of equipment.
  • Have a flexible approach to their time, i.e. being able to work during the day, at evenings and weekends as required by the people they will survey.
  • Survey interviewers are on a fee paid contract, the contract does not have guaranteed or fixed hours. You will be paid for the time you spend working and for any travel expenses.
  • Be well organised and adaptable to a range of situations
  • Have a means of transport that will enable them to frequently travel to and from specifically selected addresses which are spread up to 20 miles (30 miles in Fermanagh) from their home address
  • at times in remote rural areas, and at varying times of the day and evening in an efficient and cost effective manner

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Have a valid UK driving licence and access to their own car that will enable them to frequently travel to and from specifically selected addresses. Please refer to the Candidate Information Booklet for further information.
