Job description

We are recruiting for a Staff Nurse to set and maintain the highest standard of care in the clinical area. The post-holder will ensure safe and effective care is delivered to the patient and will ensure they work as part of a cohesive team. The expectations within this job description will be achieved through direct clinical practice, re-validation of professional accreditation through continued education and training..

Responsibilities

• To assist to maintain duty rosters, ensuring efficient and effective use of staff in accordance with the minimum staffing guidelines as laid down by RQIA.
• Provide cover for scheduled annual leave, training and any other absences, as and when required cover shifts in an emergency situation.
• To assist to orientate and induct new members of staff to the home.
• To assist with the maintenance of staff discipline including absence management and participate in disciplinary investigations, as necessary.
• To supervise all care staff and ancillary staff within the home.
• To assist with the recruitment of new staff.
• To act in accordance with the policies and procedures lead out by Brookmount Care Home.
• To supervise care staff and ancillary staff within the care home.
• To act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional standards of practice and behaviour for Nurses and Midwives 2015.
• To deputize in the absence of the Nurse Manager and Deputy Manager.
• Complete probationary reviews or appraisals of allocated staff if requested by nurse manager.
