Responsibilities

  • Responding to all comments, posts, enquiries on social media.
  • Provide day-to-day assistance in the management of brand social media communities.
  • Have a good understanding of our clients and what we provide them with.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team, ensuring effective communication throughout the working day.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor social media channels for customer inquiries, comments, and feedback, and respond in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across all social media channels.
  • Analyse social media data and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing.
  • Promote the voices of young people and other service users.
  • Update and maintain our website using a wide range of imagery and video footage.
  • Promote all activities, including our youth programmes and services, across digital and traditional channels.
  • Engage with external agencies regarding fundraising.
  • Represent HIVE positively and effectively in all dealings with internal colleagues and external partners.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, with particular reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, equality and diversity, to ensure all activities are accessible.
  • To assist with any promotional activities and visits that take place at HIVE.
  • To be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of young people and vulnerable adults is promoted and safeguarded.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Proactive and responsive.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • A passion for social media and an understanding of how brands use these channels.
  • Good written Knowledge of communications & social media platforms and production of content. Verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of producing context for social media platforms.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of developing positive working relationships in a community setting.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team, ensuring effective communication throughout the working day.
  • Have a good understanding of our clients and what we provide them with.
  • Provide day-to-day assistance in the management of brand social media communities.
  • Responding to all comments, posts, enquiries on social media.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience as a Social Media Assistant or similar role.
  • Knowledge of various social media platforms, their respective audiences, and best practices for each platform.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer.
  • Experience of marketing & fundraising concepts.
  • Ability to produce innovative & inspiring videos to showcase human interest stories.
  • Ability to produce and design engaging material using Canva and/or Photoshop.

Further Information

The Employer is: HIVE CANCER SUPPORT. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
