Daycare Manager


Job description

Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of nursery operations. To liaise with necessary agencies inc. Health & Social Care Trusts, Gateway, Health Visitors, Schools and Nursery Schools etc, actively promoting the nursery at all times. In conjunction with the proprietors be responsible for all administrative duties associated with the management of the facility, e.g. maintaining records on the children and their families, ordering equipment, maintaining an inventory, keeping personnel records. .

Responsibilities

  • To liaise with necessary agencies inc. Health & Social Care Trusts, Gateway, Health Visitors, Schools and Nursery Schools etc, actively promoting the nursery at all times.
  • In conjunction with the proprietors be responsible for all administrative duties associated with the management of the facility, e.g. maintaining records on the children and their families, ordering equipment, maintaining an inventory.
  • To show prospective parents around the nursery in a welcoming and friendly manner.
  • To ensure that both children and parents feel at ease with, and confident in the nursery.
  • To supervise and supporting all team members within the nursery with their day to day duties.
  • Train and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Ensure a clean and organized nursery environment
  • Monitor and maintain nursery equipment and facilities
  • As a person-in-charge, you will be a key holder and may be called out in an emergency situation
  • In conjunction with the proprietors be responsible for the collection, recording and banking of fees.
  • Convening/chairing staff meetings in conjunction with the proprietors.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Level 5 CCLD or Playwork or equivalent / BA Hons Early Childhood Studies
  • 12-18 months experience in a management position in a Day Care setting/or related field
  • Designated child protection training, first aid training and other relevant courses are desired but not necessary as full training will be given
  • Expert knowledge of Minimum Standards
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used for inventory management
  • Driving Licence
  • Demonstrable awareness of risk assessment.
  • Awareness of NI Preschool Curriculum and duties within a preschool to support our Preschool.

Desirable Skills

  • Management & Leadership Qualification
  • Health and Safety Qualification
  • Highly skilled in Excel
  • Ability to present new ideas
