The Employer is: BELFAST SOUTH COMMUNITY RESOURCES. BSCR is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Social Media and Communications Worker. As the Social Media & Communications Worker, you will be instrumental in elevating our organisation's online presence by actively engaging our audience across various online platforms. Your responsibilities will include supporting all aspects of communications, including social media, website, newsletters, etc., by generating compelling content, monitoring performance, collaborating with the team and contributing to our communication strategies aimed at enhancing community connections. This role is ideal for someone eager to forge a career in the communications and digital media field, offering a valuable opportunity to gain hands on experience and skills development..

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging and relevant content (posts/videos) for various social media platforms in line with our organisation's goals.
  • Manage day to day activities on social media channels, including content scheduling, monitoring, and responding to enquiries, messages and comments.
  • Collaborate with staff members to gather information for content creation.
  • Promote the voices of service users.
  • Assist in the development of communication materials such as newsletters and promotional materials.
  • Attend events and activities to create promos.
  • Stay up to date on social media trends, tools, and best practices to propose innovative ideas.
  • Track and analyse the performance of social media and content using analytics tools.
  • Participate in relevant training and development programmes to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • To engage in monitoring and evaluation as necessary, including the completion of monthly reports.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Have excellent organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, AI)
  • Experience of communication and engaging effectively with a diverse range of people/sectors.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their features.

Desirable Skills

  • Creative thinking and ability to generate engaging content.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of community engagement and understanding of community dynamics.
  • Willingness to learn and further develop own self.

Further Information

The Employer is: BELFAST SOUTH COMMUNITY RESOURCES. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour.
