Job description

The role involves the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for our 26 residents including preparation of modified diets in accordance with the IDDSI framework. This will include preparing high quality home cooked, fresh, nutritional meals and catering for any day to day dietary and cultural needs..

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with health and safety regulations, ensuring that special dietary requirements are accommodated.
• Work closely with care team to address individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain a clean environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous experience as a Cook, preferably in a care setting.
• Knowledge of modified diets, IDDSI and dietary restrictions for individuals with learning disabilities and the elderly. Understanding of health and safety regulations.

Desirable Skills

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Further Information

Work Time: 8.5 hours per week on one of Friday, Saturday or Sunday. This can be a fixed day or alternating. Rate of pay can be negotiated based on experience. Somerton PNH is a family run Nursing Home established in 1991 providing dementia care to 26 residents in North Belfast. We currently require an experienced Cook to join our team on a part time basis to provide weekend cover and occasional annual leave cover.
