Events Assistant (Grants and Evaluation)


Job description

To assist the Events Officers in the organisation and delivery of either a programme of major festivals or the annual programme of funding schemes to support events throughout the Borough, both in accordance with the Council’s Integrated Tourism, Regeneration and Economic Development Strategy. Responsibilities

  • To process invoices and to maintain records relating to the Events budgets.
  • To provide the Marketing Service and Visitor Information Centre with Event Information to service public enquiries.
  • To undertake general clerical, administrative and secretarial duties in support of the Events Officer.
  • To liaise with other Council Officers and Services/Directorates and with external organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors as and when directed.
  • To work at events delivered by Council.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent.
  • 2 years relevant administration experience.
  • Ability to work unsocial hours including weekends and bank holidays.

Desirable Skills

  • A valid driving licence with access to a form of transport that will allow fulfilment of the duties of the post or access to a suitable form of transport which will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post.
