Job description

The Employer is: PEOPLE 1ST. People 1st are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Barber to join our training team. In this role, you will provide hands-on assistance and support to students who are studying various Barbering qualifications from Level 1 - Level 3. As a Junior Barber, you will work closely with our experienced tutors and contribute to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for our students, while providing various treatments to clients of the salon. .

Responsibilities

  • Perform general salon maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and organised environment.
  • Manage reception duties, including greeting and assisting clients with appointments and enquiries.
  • Provide professional advice and consultations to clients regarding suitable haircuts, colours, and treatments.
  • Conduct haircuts, colour applications, and other salon treatments to meet clients' expectations.
  • Assist in maintaining stock control, working closely with tutors.
  • Offer mentoring support to students enrolled in school leaver programs.
  • Handle payments for salon services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Promote the People 1st salon brand through excellent customer service and client interactions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive customer database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist in marketing efforts by contributing to social media posts and other promotional activities.
  • Foster professional and positive relationships with both internal and external customers, striving to exceed their expectations.
  • Fulfill any other appropriate duties assigned by the line manager, depending on the level of the post and the post holder's competencies

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Must have achieved Level 2 Barbering qualification.
  • Strong understanding of Barbering techniques & tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Patience, empathy and ability to provide constructive feedback to students.

Further Information

The Employer is: PEOPLE 1ST. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
