Crisis Resolution Worker CAMHS Band 7 NHSCT


Job description

The post holder will be part of multi-disciplinary team of mental health practitioners in the Crisis Response Team. The service will continue to develop the evidence based model of care for those children and young people in acute need of assessment and Intensive intervention. To provide crisis assessment, intensive intervention including home visits if required, with the aim to prevent admission or if admission is required to facilitate earlier discharge for children and young people, as part of a multi-agency approach to meeting the health and social care needs of children, and families who use our service. The post holder will have a range of skills and knowledge base to deliver clinical aspects of the role, make clinical decisions and be competent to provide a service as an autonomous band 7 practitioner within their professional guidelines and provide supervision to junior staff. The service will eventually provide day time and out of hours services and on call across a 7 day period, therefore the post holder will work shift pattern in line with trust policy and Agenda for Change terms and conditions for on call and shift work. Band 7 practitioners will participate in a night time on call rota to Emergency Department and GP’s in the Northern Trust. This rota will be managed in line with Agenda for Change Guidance regarding on call and terms and conditions. This on call Rota is part of mental health at night service to take referrals offer advice on management plans and if acute mental ill health that cannot be managed by phone contact then direct assessment will be provided in a rare circumstance. This Rota is monitored and is supported by manager on call Rota and medical on call Rota. .

Responsibilities

  • To provide clinical leadership in case work in a team caseload of clients with complex needs, using case management principles, evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • To take a lead in care co-ordination within the stepped care model and attend relevant team meetings.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years experience working directly with children or young people who have experienced emotional health and wellbeing difficulties OR At least 3 years experience working in a community Mental Health team or Mental Health inpatient service.
  • Hold current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approve.
