Clinical Technologist (Radiopharmacy)
Job description
To be a member of a team of staff producing radiopharmaceuticals, radio-labelled blood products and other radioactive substances to GMP standards in purpose-designed facilities. The Radiopharmacy Department operates between the hours of 6am and 2pm..
Responsibilities
- Undertake and complete a competency based training programme in radiopharmaceutical production in a radiopharmacy and cyclotron environment.
- Collaborate and work closely with Radiopharmacists and band 6 clinical technologists in the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with agreed protocols ensuring pharmaceutical, radiation safety and good manufacturing practice (GMP).
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, or equivalent knowledge and competency based qualifications in pharmacy, plus a minimum of 18 months relevant work-based experience in the UK under the supervision, direction of a pharmacist for not less t
- OR Have a degree in a life science discipline for example, pharmaceutical science, microbiology, chemistry and biology, with 2 years experience in medicines manufacturing or aseptic services.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of staff training and supervision.
- Experience in the use of computer applications including the use of spreadsheets, word processing software applications and email.
