Job description

The Cognitive Behavioural Therapist is a member of the team that is responsible for the delivery of the Condition Management Programme (CMP) in partnership between the Western Health and Social Care Trust and the Department for Communities (DfC). The post holder will provide advanced health, social and mental health assessments and interventions for clients referred to the Condition Management Programme. The post holder is an autonomous advanced practitioner and will manage a caseload of clients with complex needs across a range of health conditions, using evidence-based / client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively within the team and with the CMP Coordinator to ensure effective utilization of resources. The post holder will work with a range of key stakeholders in both statutory services and with community and voluntary sector partners, ensuring optimum outcomes for clients to remain in or return to work..

Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined caseload in the specialty of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy of clients who have a range of complex psychological and emotional problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective
  • Screen and assess clients using suitable criteria for Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and liaise with the multi-professional team regarding outcomes in accordance with service protocols.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Professional qualification and registration with the appropriate governing body in one of the following:
  • Psychology
  • Allied Health Profession
  • Social Work
  • Nursing
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or equivalent
  • Or Applicants who are currently undertaking Post Graduate Diploma training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or equivalent and are due to complete at the end of academic year 2023/2

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of supervising and training staff.
  • Experience in the delivery of psychoeducation in a group setting utilising CBT skills.

Further Information

Location: CMP Enniskillen Business Centre, with outreach to Omagh and Fermanagh. Salary: £41,659 - £47,672 per annum, pro rata.
