Roma Support Hub Project Worker


Job description

The Roma Support Hub (RSH) is a service delivery project based at Forward South Partnership. The RSH works with the Roma community in Belfast providing immigration (EUSS) and welfare advice and support as well as facilitating access to statutory and non-statutory services. The RSH offers English classes and hosts a weekly women's group. The RSH Project Officer will assist the team through general use of office equipment (computer, scanner, printer) and specific IT skills including Microsoft Office programmes, database and spreadsheets as well as manage social media platforms and create leaflets in Canva..

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for basic administration tasks.
  • Scanning and uploading registration forms for programmes (i.e. English classes and weekly women's group).
  • Drafting membership applications (i.e. Equality Coalition, Public Interest Litigation Support, ERGO (European Roma Grassroots Organisations).
  • Manage social media content specifically in relation to the RSH activities and programmes.
  • Assist with the design and development of new programmes (i.e. International Roma Day 2024 Festival, Employability and Training Programme).
  • Be required to input information into a database (AdvicePro) and create spreadsheets.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read, speak and write English and either Romanian, Slovakian, Hungarian or Bulgarian.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Good organisational and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Good team player.
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively manage time.

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to speak Romani.
  • Experience using social media.
  • Experience using Canva.

Further Information

The Employer is: FORWARD SOUTH PARTNERSHIP. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
