Job description

As our Marketing & Business Operations Coordinator, you will play a key part in helping us grow our business beyond the UK and Ireland. At Startium, we help universities, colleges and economic development organisations provide the right support at the right time to aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs. Our suite of software products help business support teams to scale their services, maximise efficiencies and measure their impact. It is an exciting time to join our team, as we work towards launching new products in the UK and begin to trade in new European markets. You will have a hands-on role from day one, helping our small team in the UK to establish systems and processes for our marketing and customer success functions. While you will work primarily with our Directors in the UK, you will also experience working in a global team, get an insiders view of what it takes to build a start-up in Northern Ireland and develop the skills that are in high demand from employers through on the job learning. We are looking for someone who is happy to work independently as and when required, is eager to learn and is looking for an opportunity to get stuck in and supercharge their employability by absorbing as much knowledge and capabilities during their time as a key member of our team..

Responsibilities

  • Marketing support: Work with directors to implement the activities in our marketing plan and setup systems and processes so that these activities can scale.
  • Service delivery: Help our clients develop thriving entrepreneurial communities by assisting them with opportunity research, content creation and insights reporting.
  • Business development: Conduct market research and work closely with directors to create new systems and processes that can help us scale our business development activities.
  • Client engagement: Respond to client queries and help them to get the most from our products by gathering feedback and measuring customer satisfaction.
  • Operational support: Assist in administrative tasks, coordinate meetings and contribute to the overall operational efficiency of the company.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • The ability to communicate effectively using email and in online meetings.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to work independently from home as required.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise your workload.
  • The capacity to adapt to changing priorities.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a customer service role, speaking to clients by email and via video.
  • Experience of presenting to clients via zoom or hosting online webinars and events.

Further Information

The Employer is: VARSITY VENTURES LTD (STARTIUM) Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour.
