Pre-school Leader
Job description
The leader will be responsible for the day to day running of Jack and Jill Pre-school to ensure safe and stimulating learning through play in a caring and welcoming environment. The leader will work in collaboration with a Deputy Leader to provide intrinsic learning for young children. We adhere to the ‘Curricular Guidance for Pre-School Education’ to meet the individual needs of the children. .
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a successful team
- Carry out regular observations, planning & evaluations of each child in collaboration with the Deputy Leader
- Ensure health and safety is maintained at all times by carrying out regular risk assessments and by providing good standard of housekeeping
- Following GDPR guidelines regarding data
- Engage with parents regularly, keeping them informed of their child's development
- Undertaking book-keeping duties
- Liaising with the management committee and attend meetings
- Attend relevant, ongoing training courses and evenings meetings
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Level 5 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning & Development or working towards it
- Two years paid experience working with children in an Early Years setting
- ICT skills, Microsoft documents
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the NI Pre-School Curricular guidelines
- Child protection Training
- Paediatric First aid
- Food Hygiene certificate
- Experience of trust inspections
- Experience of ETI inspections
- Special Education Needs training
- Experience working in a PSEP funded setting
