Job description

The appointed person will teach Technology and Design to A Level. They will be required to adhere to the general duties and responsibilities contained within the Teachers’ (Terms and Conditions of Employment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987. .

Responsibilities

• To teach Technology and Design throughout KS3, KS4 and KS5
• To have the ability to teach Maths to KS3
• To act as a form teacher with pastoral care duties
• To teach Learning for Life and Work / Personal Development programme

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A teaching qualification as approved by the Department of Education (NI).
• A clear knowledge and understanding of curricular requirements for Technology and Design at KS3, GCSE and A Level.
• Ability to contribute to extra-curricular programme within the school.

Desirable Skills

• A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in which Technology and Design is a major component.
• Ability to teach Maths to KS3 or higher
• Experience teaching Maths to KS3 or higher
• A minimum of 6 months experience in delivering Technology and Design to KS3 or above.
