Teacher of Drama/Theatre Studies to A Level
Job description
The appointed person will teach Drama to A Level. They will be required to adhere to the general duties and responsibilities contained within the Teachers’ (Terms and Conditions of Employment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987. .
Responsibilities
- To teach Drama throughout KS3, KS4 and KS5
- To act as a form teacher with pastoral care duties
- To teach Learning for Life and Work / Personal Development programme
- To lead and deliver extra-curricular actives within the school
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A teaching qualification as approved by the Department of Education (NI)
- An honours degree or equivalent in which Drama is a major component.
- A clear knowledge and understanding of curricular requirements for Drama and Theatre Studies.
Desirable Skills
- A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in which Drama is a major component.
- Ability to teach English or RE to KS3 or above.
- Experience teaching English or RE to KS3 or above.
- A minimum of 6 months experience in delivering Drama to KS3 or above.
