Sales Advisor


Job description

The main purpose of the role is to support householders who are choosing to convert their existing heating system to a gas system for the first time. Gas heating systems are recognised for their lifestyle, convenience, and environmental benefits, however householders connecting to the network for the first time often require support and guidance to ensure that the connection experience meets the high standards that Phoenix Energy target. This will include providing householders with key information regarding the process, ensuring that they avail of any government or Phoenix funded support schemes, coordinating the installation of the gas meter connection, and helping customers identify local registered gas installation companies to complete the gas boiler installation. Sales Advisors will primarily respond to inbound sales enquiries as well as seeking out additional sales opportunities through referral work and self-generated activities. .

Responsibilities

  • Present and promote the benefits of converting to Gas to potential domestic property owners in the Phoenix license area.
  • Provide a high quality experience for householders making the switch to natural gas, ensuring that the business identifies and supports the specific needs that householders may have.
  • Have a flexible approach to accommodate appointment times that best suit domestic customers.
  • Work with the Phoenix Marketing team and existing resources to support targeted promotional opportunities.
  • Engage in regular, scheduled training and development forums to support product knowledge and maintain best practice across all consumer engagements.
  • Assist customers with the completion of application paperwork and submit a high quality of scheduled reporting data to meet departmental needs.
  • Post sales visit, support householder queries that may arise during gas installation process.
  • Participate in departmental marketing events and self-generating initiatives that support the generation of new sales enquiries.
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to ensure an integrated contribution to Phoenix Energys corporate objectives.
  • Observe and comply with policies and procedures for Health and Safety at Work and observe and continually promote equal opportunities and customer care in compliance with organisational aims and objectives.
  • Participate in learning and development activities that develop personal effectiveness and assist in improving performance in the role.
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Full valid UK driving licence
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a Customer Facing role.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a target driven role
  • Flexibility with working hours as the successful candidate will be required to carry out appointments most suitable to the business and customers e.g., evenings.
  • Positive, enthusiastic and industrious approach to the role.
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and persuasive skills.
  • Proficient IT skills to include the use of Microsoft programmes such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong administration skills

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working in a Field Sales role.
