Clinical Scientist - Radioisotopes Band 8A
Job description
To be a member of a team providing scientific support and expertise in the use of radionuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes to Nuclear Medicine Departments within Northern Ireland. Act as Medical Physics Expert (MPE) for the Radioisotope Service of the Regional Medical Physics Service. .
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific support to the radionuclide diagnostic and therapy services at the Imaging Centre of the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH), at the Cancer Centre of Belfast City Hospital (BCH) and the Regional Radiopharmacy.
- Provide expert scientific support to the Nuclear Medicine departments within the region. This includes acting as a Medical Physics Expert (MPE) for defined Nuclear Medicine services.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of a 2nd class honours degree in Physics or other appropriate science subject.
- Registered as a Clinical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council or expect to achieve HCPC Registration as a Clinical Scientist within 12 months of appointment.
