Job description

Responsibilities

  • Develop & Implement NICS and departmental IT strategies and processes to support business need and meet challenging demands.
  • Ensure the effective co-ordination of relationships with key stakeholders during the design, development, implementation, and management of all IT Operations.
  • Ensure IT Services comply with best practice, represent value for money and are delivered in line with appropriate policies.
  • Promote IT Security and embed a positive cyber security culture within their department or organisation.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to design, develop, implement, and manage a range of IT projects and services. This will involve managing all aspects of team delivery including existing third-party service contracts and suppliers.
  • Manage all aspects of the delivery lifecycle for a range of IT projects and services including contribution to business case development, planning, resource allocation,
  • issue and risk management, reporting, release management, evaluation, and benefits realisation. Identify opportunities where IT can drive efficiencies and release tangible business value.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • All applicants must meet either eligibility criterion 1 (both parts), or eligibility criterion 2, as below: 1) At least a level 4 qualification in Computing, Software Engineering, or other discipline relevant to Information Technology.
  • (Only those courses where a computing content of 50 or more can be demonstrated to the satisfaction of the panel will be considered relevant).
  • AND 3 year's management experience working collaboratively with senior leaders and managing diverse stakeholders to successfully lead multidisciplinary team(s) delivering IT/digital products or services of significant scale and complexity,
  • aligned to the organisation's strategic priorities.
  • OR 2) 5 year's management experience working collaboratively with senior leaders and managing diverse stakeholders to successfully lead multidisciplinary team(s) delivering IT/digital products or services of significant scale
  • and complexity, aligned to the organisation's strategic priorities.
  • In addition to 1 or 2, applicants must also meet eligibility criteria 3 and 4, as below: 3) 2 years' Commercial or Financial management experience,
  • managing complex relationships with customers and contracted suppliers and communicating business benefits between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 4) 2 years' practical experience of successfully developing and delivering business efficiencies through IT enabled business change projects, to ensure digital opportunities are fully exploited by the organisation(s).
