Job description
To be responsible, through management and staff leadership, for promoting and ensuring the highest standards of care, in compliance with statutory requirements, to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents within the Christian ethos of PCI. Responsibilities
- Assist in the full assessment of residents' needs and prospective residents. Participate in the regular review of these assessments and ensure they are carried out within the time scale.
- Participate in the formulation and carrying out of comprehensive care plans and reviews which address residents' physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs and give regular feed back to residents/relatives.
- Be aware of all complaints, taking immediate action and reporting to the Manager in accordance with policy. Participate in quality assurance to assess the effectiveness of the service provided.
- Ensure compliance with all Policies / Procedures ensuring that related procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively. Liaise with any maintenance personnel to ensure that maintenance is carried out.
- Communicate the Christian faith by word and action both individually and as part of a staff team. Lead or assist with daily devotions within the Home.
- Deal with general enquiries. Liaise with residents' families / next of kin, doctors and district nurses, care managers, RQIA and other statutory or church agencies. Establish and maintain contacts within the local community, as appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care (or equivalent qualification) Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities of the post and standards for the service, including the need for management and delivery of person-centred services.
- Knowledge of current health and social services available for those with additional needs Computer skills for word processing and emailing The ability to plan, develop and implement programmes of care
- A minimum of 3 year's experience working in a residential setting (2 years of which must be in a Senior care role) Experience of ordering, receiving and administering medication Experience of liaising with RQIA
- A minimum of 1 years' experience of supervising staff Previous experience of managing residents with dementia/challenging behaviour Experience of administration
- Must be willing to work within the Christian ethos of PCI. Must be available for flexible working, including on call at night, week-ends and sleep in, as required
- Willingness to maintain registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body eg., NISCC or NMC Must be willing to adhere to NISCC Codes of Practice or N.M.C. Satisfactory Access NI check
