Job description

To ensure the safety and security of the hotel, guests and residents during their stayover, providing excellent customer care and keeping public areas clean and tidy..

Responsibilities

• Carrying out night porter procedures as per the nightly checklists, including set up rooms and cleaning duties.
• Be fully conversant and compliant with Health and Safety, Fire and Security policy and procedures.
• Issuing of keys to correct personnel/residents.
• Maintaining a high level of security in the hotel and co-operation with all other departments.
• Dealing with disruptive or difficult guests accordingly in calm manner and report any suspicious/unusual behaviour.
• Systematic and regular patrolling of hotel grounds.
• Being able to give a clear and concise handover at the end of a shift, highlighting any events that have occurred and forthcoming events.
• Collecting payments on occasion.
• Checking in late arrivals.
• Dealing with early departures (& early breakfast).

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Able to demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, services and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area.
• Heavy lifting can be expected
• Ability to understand, speak and write in English as this is the primary language of the client base.

Desirable Skills

• Previous hospitality experience desirable.
