Job description

The Dietetic Assistant will work under the supervision of the Dietitians in the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust. The Dietetic Assistant will be involved in the practical aspects of reviewing patients for the Dietitians. The Dietetic Assistant may be involved in the delivery of education and training programmes. The Dietetic Assistant will also undertake some routine administrative and clerical duties as required by the dietetic staff..

Responsibilities

• Monitor the nutritional intake of identified patients and complete accurate food record charts
• Calculate and analyse individuals nutritional intake by hand and using computer programmes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 4 GCSE O levels Grade A-C, or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
• Or NVQ Level 3 in Care nutrition, or equivalent above
• NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent and 1 years paid experience working in a caring environment
